about Hagenør

The home of Hagenør, a nature reserve on the Danish coast.

This is where the story begun.

From Consulting in Copenhagen and Tokyo to handcraft in my hometown

I've always been fascinated by the differences between Denmark and Japan. Both are advanced countries, but their cultures, traditions, and languages are very different.

Having studied Japanese language and culture and subsequently innovation management, I longed to combine my two worlds with my love for craftsmanship.

Out of that dream came Hagenør.

My career in innovation consulting took a sharp turn when my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The news was a wake-up call, prompting me to return to my hometown to support her.

During this time, I discovered a deep sense of peace and purpose in working with my hands, crafting with materials like wood and steel.

As I refined my skills, Hagenør was born. In this shift from my previous life, I found new meaning in returning to my roots and creating unique, handcrafted pieces.

Hagenør is actually a scenic area on the Danish coast, where a forested hill meets the shoreline.

Over time, the sea has gradually eaten away at the hill, causing trees to tumble toward the water while revealing colored layers of sand—each telling a story millions of years in the making.

Remarkably, some of the fallen trees continue to grow, standing as a quiet testament to the raw natural beauty and resilience of this unique landscape.

The natural beauty of Hagenør has long been a source of inspiration for me.
