about Hagenør

ハゲノル

The home of Hagenør, a nature reserve on the Danish coast.

This is where the story begun.

From Consulting in Copenhagen & Tokyo to carpentry in my hometown

I've always been fascinated by the differences between Denmark and Japan. Both are advanced countries, but their cultures, traditions, and languages are very different.

Having studied Japanese language and culture and subsequently innovation management, I longed to combine my two worlds with my love for craftsmanship.

Out of that dream came Hagenør.

After working in the hectic environment of innovation consulting, my life drastically changed when my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. This wake-up call made me move back to my hometown to support her, and in doing that, I found solace in working with my hands using materials like wood and steel.

As I honed my skills, Hagenør came to life. In the stark contrast to my previous life, I found an unmatched purpose in returning to my roots and creating unique items with a now holistic view on life.

Hagenør is a beautiful nature preserved area located on the Danish coast. A forest sits on a hill overlooking the sea, and over time, the waves have uncovered colorful sand dunes, each with a history of millions of years.

As the hill erode, parts of it crumble, causing oak, birch, and beech trees to lean and fall toward the water. Amazingly, even when partially submerged, the trees keep growing, creating a unique and special landscape.

Hagenørs nature has long been the source of my inspiration for my designs.
