about Hagenør

ハゲノル

Hagenør, a small place in Jutland, Denmark — my hometown.

This is where my story begins.

From Consulting jobs in Copenhagen and Tokyo to workshop in hometown

I've always been fascinated by the differences between Denmark and Japan. Both are advanced countries, but their cultures, traditions, and languages are very different.

Wanting to connect these two worlds, I studied Japanese language and culture, followed by innovation management.

After working in innovation consulting for a few years, my life changed when my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I moved back to my hometown to support her and took a break from consulting.

During this time, I found it therapeutic to work with my hands, using materials like wood and steel.

As I honed my skills in metal and woodworking, I eventually founded a business and named it Hagenør Design as an homage to returning to my roots and discovering what I love.

Hagenør is a beautiful place on the Danish coast where nature flourishes. A forest sits on a hill by the sea, and over time, waves have uncovered colorful sand dunes, each with a history of millions of years.

As the hill erodes, parts of it crumble, causing oak, birch, and beech trees to lean and fall toward the water. Amazingly, even when partially submerged, these trees keep growing, creating a unique and special landscape.

the nature around Hagenør has long been the source of my inspiration for my designs.
